Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:10.

Minutes
August minutes were approved.
Staff Report-
MaryKaye Champa
- The new Richfield Recreation book is now available.
- Penn Fest will occur on September 16. Some area
residents apparently were not aware of the street
closure and are upset. The Arts Commission has
been allotted the Liquor Store section of the
street. MaryKaye, Claire and Judy will meet at the
Liquor Store on Monday (Sept. 10) to get a sense of
the available space. There is electric power access
through a plug at the back of the building.
AugustOpen House Debra sent out an email following the event. Some of
the members who had volunteered to help did not show
up, so the event was short staffed, but managed to be
successful in spite of that.
Thank You Card
Presentation
The card was presented to Larry Couture by Claire,
Judy and Pete. A photo is posted on the RAC Facebook
page and the Richfield Patch ran a story about it.
September 8 Open
House
The Open House will run from 9:30 – 11:30. Some
volunteers need to be there by 9 to set up. Activities
will include: spin art, button making and scratchboards.
Anyone who can bring magazines and sidewalk chalk,
please do so.

Streets
The event runs from noon to 5pm. Participants should
come at 11:30. Volunteers for activities:

Painting Demo – Ron & Ellen
Hand Out RAC Info/Recruit - ?
Claire has a large van that can be used to bring our
rolling sign, 2 smaller tables, chairs, button maker,
potter’s wheel and other supplies from the Art Center.
These will be loaded after the Saturday Open House.
Debra will bring her Easy-Up, 5 chairs and sand bags.
MK to bring, water, duck tape, cooler, Public Art
Tour brochures, artist registry forms, Claire will make
up an information form about the commission that can
be distributed.

Claire
Claire has written a proposal for a Pizza and Poetry
event and will approach area businesses to see if one of
them has a meeting room that could be used for this.

Teen Art
Competition
Kevin was not at the meeting, but via email he reported
that he will be sending a flyer to Pete and Willie to
post in their schools.

Other Questions
and Issues
The Arts Commission has $469.64 in its budget to
use by year end.
The Art Center needs cleaning supplies. City staff
will clean before the Open House.
There was discussion about coming up with a
procedure to start offering classes through the
Art Center.
