• The RAC has about $360.00 left in our current funds.
We will be able to purchase business cards. (We then
voted for a final look of the card from 2 different
designs) MaryKaye will order the business cards from
staples.com.
• Currently the Open House ads in the community book
list our start times as 9am. MK will update the fall
Open House times as 9:30am-11:30am.
• This coming Tuesday (July 10th) is the RAC’s 2-minute
presentation with the City Council. We will give them a
short PowerPoint presentation and try and have a
longer more detailed work session with them at a later
time.
MaryKaye will
order business
cards and update
the times for the
fall Open House
listings. The Co-
Chairs will see
about setting up
a work session
with the city
council in the
future.
June Open House Debra
Caserotti
The featured activities were making turtles and fish kites. Not
as many visitors came as the May Open house but still a larger
turnout than last year. Megan Cassidy (alphabet blog on
patch.com) signed the artist registry – she has a self-published
book that we may be able to help her promote. We received
suggestions on how to use the Art Center during the Open
House such as hosting Birthday parties and open studio time.
If we did Birthday Parties, would we set it up where people
could sign up for it like an Art class? Would we be considered
Independent Contractors to get paid for hosting a birthday
party? Could we partner with the mini golf/Bistro? MK will talk
to Jim T. about it.

It will go from 9am-11:30am. The main activity will be (age
appropriate) Mystery Bags. We have enough bags for 40-50
kids. Willie will also bring his Spin Art and supplies for Blotto
prints and Pulled String prints. Judy, Debra and Willie will be
there for sure. If anyone else can make it (for even part of the
time) feel free to join them.
Come help out if
you can.

• Claire was out but Debra had notes from Claire that
were passed around. One major improvement to the
FB page would be adding more photos. MaryKaye
brought up that we can’t have photos of kids inside the
Arts Center without a release form from their parents.
We’ll need to bring release forms to our events in the
future if we want photos of kids’ activities.
• Claire had several ideas for content (Meet a Richfield
Artist, Meet a Commission member, Monthly Art
Projects, etc.) that everyone was cool with.
• Kevin suggested having a giveaway on our FB to

can decide what
he may like to

increase the amount of likes. An idea would be to
giveaway a piece of Willie’s Art (being the RHS Art
teacher, a lot of Richfield residents know Willie and
would probably like to have a piece of his Art). We’d do
a detailed FB post about it and users would have to
“like” it and “share” it on their pages to be entered in
the contest. We’d then pick a random winner.
• Pete added to Kevin’s idea saying he may be able to
get a pair of donated Ordway tickets as a giveaway
prize.

Meeting with
Larry Couture
Judy
Goebel
MK, Jim T. Debra and Judy had a meeting with Larry
Couture, owner of EcoWater. We will be able to get the
$1,000.00 donation from him. He asked what we would use the
money for. A button maker is at the top of the list which Judy
priced between $200-$300. We’d also purchase Polymer clay
and tools. Debra mentioned the benefits for the clay are; other
art centers are not using it, it doesn’t take up much space and
it’s an all-ages activity. We could also get some drawing
boards and/or easels to be used for open houses/studio space.
If anyone thinks of other ideas how to use the money; bring
them to the next meeting.
Bring ideas on
how to use the
donation to next
meeting.
City Hall Art Display Debra
Caserotti
• Debra is in charge of booking for the art in the
community center, city hall display case (and to a
lesser extent, getting the artist in contact with) the
Augsburg Park library.
• MK will find out from Kristine when we need to get the
application in for next year’s display case.
• We’re starting to run low on Richfield residents to
display art. Kevin suggested we tap non-teen art show
public/private Richfield students/teachers. Willie can
happily bring any student work, and Pete will ask Holy
Angels teachers/classes about participating in our
Richfield Art Display Circuit.
• Debra found that the RAC Exhibit Policy & Application
needs several updates. Kevin volunteered to make the
updates and tweak the layout design so it reads better.
