Art in the dist #287
school garden
Anne
Krocak and
Karen
Benson
Karen Benson is a teacher at the new school building district
#287 (school across the road from St. Richards in Richfield).
The school received a MN State Art learning grant and used it
to have artist Anne Krocak come in and make art with the
students. They will be unveiling the art on May 30th 12-1:30 in
the school garden. They asked us how they can promote the
event. We suggested getting in touch with the city of Richfield
to get the event up on their online calendar, Out and About TV,
social media, also submit the events to Richfield Patch and
Sun Current.
We will mention
the event on our
social media
feeds before the
event
May Open House Judy
Goebel
Our first Open House of the season will be on May 12th. Willie
can bring spin art as well as florescent sticker paper for the
flower pots. We have murals we can bring out. Pete will remind
Mary to get musicians for the event. We will need a day before
the Open House to organize the Art Center after the new floor
is installed. Debra will talk to MK about when we can do that.

May 17 Community
Celebration event
Judy
Goebel
We would like to have some volunteers at the Art Center
during the event, which is 4:30-7pm to watch out for everything
since the Art Center will be open. We won’t have activities
going on, but maybe we have literature to hand out?

Work Session with
City Council
Debra
Caserotti
This will be July 10th around 5:30 or 6pm at the council
chambers. We will dig out the old plan and get it on the agenda
for next meeting. We can present the bicycle event. Judy will
send out the 2010 work session info.

RAC Public Art Tour Tomasz
Majewski
The bicycle event sub committee met up. Tom talked to David
Gepner and he had some good ideas on pulling info about
getting police escort. He knows people from the ‘Nice Ride’
program and could use their mobile stations if they can’t get
rented bikes for free. The Open House would be noon-4 with a
2pm guided tour of selected art. David will help draw up a
route. Maybe we can pull in some artists that did Art work to be
at the station and talk about art? Maybe we do a
kickstarter.com project for the event? Do-town money is
available, Tom will try and fill out an application grant from
them for the bicycle event. Can we have doors open in
community center? Can we have musicians at the Art Center?

Work session in May. Looking for approval to hire architect to
do concepts. Best Buy providing money; still discussing
location/size/scope.
Teen Art Show Pete
Dysart
Months later, the final pieces of teen art have been ID’ed and
with the students. Pete suggested we have the library ID the
art pieces better, either with taped ID cards like they do at the
State Fair Art Show, or by taking photos of each piece next to
a white board with ID info when pieces are excepted.
Noted, Kevin will
suggest IDs to
Lisa.
Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at 8:28 PM.
