The farmers market coordinator resigned their position— this most
likely will not effect any of our open house dates — MaryKaye will
keep us posted. We have a fundraiser opportunity for the RAC to
sell flowers at the dance recital on Friday April 23rd at 7pm at the
middle school auditorium. Ellen and Jackie volunteered to run the
flower table.

2010 Election Judy
Goebel
Kevin Klos was unanimously voted to another term as secretary
drawing cheers and applause from the commission (thank you
very much). Ellen Stinger and Judy Goebel were also voted into
another term as co-chairs of the RAC.

Teen Art Breakfast Judy
Goebel
Willie made a presentation to the students that showed up for the
teen art breakfast and then handed out the participation awards.
Lisa Howes from the Augsburg Park Library, Linda Grulke of the
Optimist Club, Dr. Slotterback and Tom Rublein were in
attendance. Kevin sent out thank you notes to Lunds, Einstein
Bros. Bagels, Tom Rublein, and Willie Falwell for their donations.
Summer Art Center

Our first date will be June 12 from 9am-noon. Ellen suggested
setting up a donation jar. Willie said he could bring materials to do
spin art, and Bob said he could bring a button maker. MaryKaye
will ask if we have permission to have live music outside of the art
center. Ellen asked if we can run demos in the commons area of
the Arts Center — MaryKaye will look into that, as well as finding
out if we can use the Portland sign to promote the June event.
Ellen will contact Pam and Steve to see if they will do a Richfield
Out and About episode to promote the June Art Center event.
Judy suggested having a painted RAC truck outside of the Arts
Center during our event days. MaryKaye will look into that. If this
is approved, Willie can bring paint to paint the truck, or panels to
have on the truck. Willie will bring a panel to the next meeting to
show as a sample. Jackie suggested having a theme to the panels
if we go that route. Kevin suggested that one summer open house
be used as a RAC art show. This would also be a great way to
promote our teachers that have art classes. August 14 was the
suggested date for this event.

Ellen and Judy suggested decorating a truck (mural?) to have in
the 4th of July parade. MaryKaye will find out about parade fees.

Art Around Town Ellen
Stinger
Through the community center, Ellen hosts art field trips to places
like The Walker. The field trips have not been very successful with
attendance, and she wondered if they might be better if this was
associated with the RAC instead. RAC volunteers could lead tours
on these field trips. This could possibly be a way to get donations
or since it is art education for adults, possible grants?

Web presence July
Goebel
Judy and Ellen went to the MRAC seminar on building a web
presence. They learned that we need to approach this in two
phases: the first is technical, the second is content. Everyone
should start thinking about what kind of content they would like to
see on the RAC site.
