Finalize plans for Art
Center Open House during
Farmers' Market for Sept
18, Oct. 9
The upcoming Art Center Open House
will be on September 18 from 9 to
noon. Activities will include exhibits of
relevant work by those Arts
Commission Members who are
offering public classes through Adult
Education or the Recreation Program.
Rather than doing demos, we will just
exhibit work and have a description of
the class offered. We will request
staff to compile a one-page listing of
arts classes offered this fall , dates,
location, cost and registration
information and duplicate it so we can
hand it out during the Open House.
Bob will bring his button machine.
Spin art, rubbings and an opportunity
to work on the mural paintings will be
offered, depending on the number of
volunteers who staff the open house.
Peter is requested to recruit musicians
to play during the open house.
The next open house will be October 9.
We had originally planned on
decorating pumpkins, doing leaf
rubbings and letting people paint on
the mural. At this time we don’t know
whether we can get pumpkins

Retrospect- RAC
Achievements
Judy Goebel The commission reviewed a list of our
accomplishments in the year since last
September. See Attachment A.
2010-11 Planned Activities
Judy Goebel The commission reviewed a list of
activities planned for the coming year
(September 2010 through August
2011), See Attachment B. In addition
to the activities mentioned in the
attachment, the Arts Commission
would like to have an influence over
the presence of artwork in the new city
hall and over its selection. It was
suggested that we find out when the
next Mayor’s Hour will be held and
have a group of RAC members go and
speak with her about this. (Note: The
Mayor’s Hour is held on the Last
Saturday of the month from 9:30 to
10:30 am. The next one will be
September 25 and will be at the
Farmers’ Market.)
Judy and Ellen will
compile a calendar of
our planned events for
the coming year.
Marketing RAC Judy Goebel There was a discussion of how we can
better market our activities and arts
events in Richfield. The following is a
list of possibilities:
Write letters to the Editor of
the Sun/Current
Issue press releases
Offer a chance on the
