MaryKaye introduced the RAC to the new farmers market
coordinators Mary and Tim. We let them know about our summer
open house events. MaryKaye reported to us on the dance recital
fundraiser. Jackie and Ellen sold flowers to 19 families for a profit
of $32. The general feeling was this was a great fundraising
opportunity and we would like to do it again next year.

Pete was confident that we will have musicians available for the
event. He will make some calls. Mayor Goetel suggested we get in
contact with Scott Mathison, a local piano teacher for one of the
event dates. One activity will be Bob’s button maker. MaryKaye
can get markers, crayons and paper for the button maker. Debra
suggested using a lightweight fabric. Kevin will check his art
director samples and bring in anything that could be used to cut
out for buttons. MaryKaye will print out some RAC logos for the
button maker. We discussed having some art work on display for
the event. Willie will get a hold of MaryKaye to get some work on
display before the date. Ron will bring some paintings to display.
Mayor Goettel will announce the event date at the next city council
meeting and get the event on the city calendar. Willie will bring a
sandwich board sign to have outside the Arts Center, and
MaryKaye reserved the sign on Portland. Volunteering for the
June event will be: Ron, Willie, Ellen, Mayor Goetel, Judy,
MaryKaye, Jackie and Bob.
Pete willl find
musicians for
the event.
MaryKaye,

We decided to have mural painting as an activity for the July date.
Willie can bring the panels. He will call MaryKaye and she will
drop them off at the Arts Center. MaryKaye found out that we can
not have a RAC truck parked outside the Arts Center during the
farmers market. MaryKaye can meet people the day before to get
anything inside the Arts Center we need, so no one has to carry
anything from their car the day of.

We decided to have demos and a RAC Arts show for the August
event. Ron and Deborah volunteered to do demos. Kevin
suggested having all available class information out during the
demos. Willie suggested having a “Pottery Lottery” during the
event.

The date is confirmed for September 18th. We discussed as a
group participating in the event and decided yes we will
participate, but only from the Arts Center (not renting booth
space).

House Goebel small pumpkins. She volunteered to contact Bachmans/other
garden stores closer to the event date to see if they would be
willing to donate small pumpkins. We talked about promoting the
Teen Art show during this event. MaryKaye will get this event date
reserved/confirmed.
4th of July Judy
Goebel
MaryKaye found out that it costs $35 to be in parade, plus proof of
insurance if we were to drive. MaryKaye can get an application if
we want, but after weighing our options we decided to not do the
4th of July parade and focus our efforts on the open house dates.
Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kevin Klos, Secretary of the RAC
