MaryKaye reported that the Richfield “Music in the Park” program
needs volunteer “hosts” (The city doesn’t have money for staff
people) at each Thursday performance during the summer. After
learning about Music in the Park, we felt like this would be a good
program to help out at. We would need to be at the park at
6:30pm-8pm. Concerts start at 7pm. Judy and Ellen suggested
selling food during the concerts as a fundraiser. MaryKaye will ask
permission. Judy will email the members that couldn’t make the
meeting info on volunteering for this.

Summer Art Center
Programming – June
12
Judy
Goebel
Willie will bring pottery for a “Pottery Lottery” and spin art
machine. Pete will round up musicians. Bob will bring the button
maker and Ron and Willie will bring art work to display. Willie will
make a sign to display by the outside of the Art Center.

Film Series Ellen
Stinger
Ellen brought up the idea of using the Art Center to show a mini-
series of 3 different films targeted to different audiences: families,
children and seniors. Unfortunately, the city does not have a
projector we can use at the Art Center. MaryKaye suggested
using the projector in the room at the community center, however,
she would need to know the dates we wanted to do this asap. We
decided on the dates of: 11/12/10, 2/11/11, 4/1/11. We will talk
more about specific films to show at a later meeting.

Teen Art Show Judy

Judy asked if anyone would be interested in coordinating this
year’s Teen Art Show. Kevin volunteered to do so.

Judy suggested we create a flyer specifically to post/hand out to
market our upcoming events (Music in the Park, Art Center Open
House events, etc). Kevin volunteered to create the flyer in time
for the June Open House.

Pot Luck Judy

Judy suggested having a RAC pot luck dinner. We discussed
having the dinner on July 8th outside of the community center at
5pm. MaryKaye will reserve the Arts & Crafts room as a backup in
case it rains. We will talk more about this at the July meeting.
