New Business
Officers for 2009: In unanimous voting, Pete Dysart was re-elected Chair of the RAC, Ellen Stinger Co-Chair of the RAC, and Kevin Klos secretary of the RAC.
RAC Bylaws: Bob motioned to amend one of the RAC bylaws, and add a key component that addresses how many excused/unexcused absences should be allowed before removal from the RAC. Further
discussion found there are non-active members (non-active meaning no meetings in the last year) that can be removed from the RAC roster. It was agreed that removing non-active members
would help us reach our quorum level on a regular basis.
Farmers Market: The group discussed having an Arts Alive festival during the farmers market sometime this summer. Last year it was met with opposition. Kevin mentioned that during his
talk with the city council, the council thought it was a great idea and wondered why we have not already done it. They said that if we were met with any opposition, that we should talk
with them to get things OK’ed. Possible activities were discussed, Ellen suggested art with paper, Judy suggested doing something with kids like face painting. There was talk of doing
recycled art, but we decided to wait on that until next year since it would be a big project. Could M&I bank sponsor us if we had an open house? Would we want to move the woodlake paint
out to the arts center/farmers market? Should we have refreshments/ice cream social? Publicize on webpage/facebook? Should we have open house separate from farmers market? Could we use
free bagels as a draw and get them from 66th and Penn? Should we find a sponsor for open house and exchange them giving us money for adding their logo to our flyers? Go to M&I first,
and then RBCU and Bremer bank? More will be discussed next meeting.
Movie Night: MaryKay will follow up with M&I to see if they will do it again this year. Richfield has had budget cuts so the whole thing is uncertain at this point.
Community Center Art Display: Dr. Slotterback is up next for April/May. Willie brought up if there will be a reception for him. Ron will follow up. Ellen is on deck for June/July.
City Hall Art Display: Could we have art displayed there? Pete will get in contact with the city council.
Community Service Commission: Does anyone have time to join? It may help as this commission would be a good partner for things we want to accomplish.
Arts Center Sign: Jim had mentioned adding a sign out front of the building, anyone want to follow up on that?
Richfieldarts.org: We own that domain, but do we want to purchase richfieldartcenter.org? Also, Joe will set up a richfieldarts.org email for Pete to use as our contact.
Richfield City Newsletter: Can we get the URL of our website on the city newsletter? Pete will follow up with Scott Bradley.
