• Bob Teslow is the art teacher at the Blake School need to correct his cell # on the phone list

• Kevin Klos has a studio arts &graphic design background and works in an art dept.

• Peter Dysart is the Band and Music director of Holy Angels High School_________
MRAC grant and Art Center, Veteran's Park | Ron Wilson, Susan Rublein, Jim Topitzhofer
Ron and Susan attended the MRAC meeting on Jan 19 and since there were other art centers applying for the grant, they learned more about the review process, however our grant was refused.
We can apply for the grant again at another date.
Jim informed the commission that the city intended to go ahead with their plans to renovate the space. .If we want to make changes or additions to the space we will have to find the
funds-
Wood Lake Summer Youth Art Class Ron Wilson
Ron approached the art teachers in Richfield to lead this program and they were unable
to participate.
• Ellen Stinger will be the leader of the Summer youth art class called "Exploring Art in
Nature "
for middle school students, who are recommended to the program by their art teachers. It will
not be publicized except through the art teachers.
It will be held July 30 - Aug 3 Mon. - Fri. 1:30-3:30 Ellen has submitted a syllabus for the
classes to Carol at the Wood Lake Nature Center and she will contact the art teachers.

Concert venue_________________| Elizabeth Barnes________________ • Elizabeth has developed a professional string orchestra and is in need of space with good acoustics for their performances.
The high schools were suggested; Jim Topitzhofer suggested having smaller string groups perform in small spaces. Suggested possible venues -the atrium next to Houihans and the sculpture
garden, also participating in the Wood Lake Paint out.__________________________
Veterans' Memorial

We are now a non-profit called "Honoring All Veterans Memorial" and we are using the 501C3 of the Richfield Foundation.Travis has been hired as a consultant to help raise money from
Corporations and the Memorial Day Event for 2007...which is the Groundbreaking Ceremony
We will be setting up at the MN Twins on May 27,2007 which is the Sunday before Memorial Day to help promote the event. That is "All Armed Services Day" in which they give away 10,000
free seats to military men/women and their families. We will be running a silent auction that day also, with donated items from Nick's Sporting Goods. Memorial Day Groundbreaking Event:
Chris Hawkey is the band playing at the Event his website is www.chrishawkev.com Nick's sporting goods is the First Sponsor, they will be running a silent auction with signed sports
memorabilia
The VFW and Legion will are handling the food and beverage for the event. No Alcohol will be served in the park, you may go to the Legion to drink. • Willie Falwell showed a framed
display and photos The miniature mock-up of the memorial is on display in the Community Center and was made by Willie's students.

Jackie showed us a copy of the flyer she places around the city.
She wanted ideas for placing it online and in the newspaper
Josh has ideas that will place it in the Sun Current and it was suggested that it could be
online
As we have a link to the cities website, but it was agreed that our web page is buried
and needs to be revived.
Teen Art Contest at the library________| Willie Falwell
Willie spoke to Louis, the librarian who organizes this event -she wants to have this in Sept. - he will try to convince her that it would be better to have it later in Oct. or Nov,
So that the students have more time to prepare art work for the event._______________

Jackie Mihaiek informed us that the Draper Village Shores apartment complex will allow artists to hang their art work- Ron will contact her._____________________ The meeting was adjourned
