Judy Goebel taking minutes this month. Last month's minutes have not been published. Ron particularly needs the attendance- Wood Lake Paint Out Ron Wilson Volunteers needed. Ron is out of town for the entire month of June. • Ice Cream - Willie • Staff art sale in morning - Susan Rosenberg, Willie • Music (1-3pm)-Peter • Publicity (Sun-Current) - Michelle, Josh • Signage - (ensure that Wood Lake staff has created a flyer) - Willie • Update canvas banners - Ron & Willie • Ask if a banner can be displayed at Rainbow Foods - Willie • Put up banner/s on Wood Lake fence - Willie • Put announcement on electronic sign — Susan Rosenberg • Signage to direct visitors to art sale (Willie) • Sign up sheet to be made available to collect information for a mailing list for use of Art Center. 4th of July Parade Participation No float this year. RAC will try to think of a really great float for next year's parade. Art Center Ron Wilson Construction well underway. Wall & door up, plumbing hi process. Opening planned for October 13 with Mayor and city officials. Ellen & Ron to meet with Park & Rec programmers to plan class offerings for this space. Need ideas for class offerings. Call Ron with ideas.___________________ Shakespeare in City Park_________ Michelle Schwantes Midsummer Nights Dream - 15 actors in rehearsal. Still negotiating dates, but early to mid June. Michelle is doing her own publicity.______________________ RAC Minutes Veterans' Memorial Committee Travis Gorshe Sales of name engravings are underway. Memorial Day event planning well underway. Hours will be 11 am to 5 pm. Pig Roast will be sponsored by unions. A car has been donated to be given away. Silent Auction prizes being collected. Travis is requesting that all city commissions donate "baskets" to auction. Susan Rosenberg & Mary Olafson are focal points for assembling RAC basket. Can include works of art and art materials. Holiday Lights Displays by Businesses Bob Teslow Text for letter to Chamber of Commerce was distributed. No vote taken, but no one objected, so Bob will send to Chamber of Commerce on behalf of RAC._______ Community Center Art Display______ Ron Wilson May-June - Dennis Stanley (still not up at time of meeting) July-August - Gail Kluge September- October - Ellen Stinger's Students November-December — Ellen Stinger (mixed media)____ Publicity Jackie Mihalik Current newsletter shown. Jackie will distribute in the commuity Wood Lake Teen Art Class Ellen Stinger Deferred to next month because Ellen absent. New Business June Pot Luck Picnic Ron Wilson Jim Topitzhofer to confirm date and reserved area to RAC members. RAC pot luck picnic will take the place of the June meeting. Ron will e-mail the date and time to RAC members. Centennial Poetry & Essay Contest Ron Wilson Library and schools will run this. No RAC activity expected. Possiblity of Mural in New City Hall Building Ron Wilson Ron has assigned the task of investigating this to Josh, although he was not present. The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 pm.
