CALL TO ORDER/APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chair Johanson called the regular CSC meeting to order at 7:00.
STAFF REPORTS
Farmers Market Update
Recreation Coordinator Muellerleile and Recreation Manager Murphy provided an update on the Richfield Farmers Market and various food
access programs (Market Bucks, Power of Produce, Local Food Purchase Assistance, Food Hub, Community Garden, Fare for All, and the Share
the Love Food Drive).
Recreation Services
RS Director Huemiller reported on the following:
-Outdoor programs have begun: Glow In the Dark Mini Golf
-League registration and summer program registration have been strong
-Seasonal hiring for the pool, playgrounds, and Farmers Market is complete.
-Dog park survey: most-wanted feature is a ramp. Other valuable feedback.
-Tennis court assessment; Fairwood courts determined to be unsafe. Survey open at richfieldmn.gov/fairwoodtennissurvey. Nets at Madison
courts are being repaired.
-Community Garden has a waitlist.
--CSC will have a booth at the State of the Community Celebration.
-Wood Lake Nature Center animals have moved to the Community Center. Staff will be moving there, as well. Nature center building is closed.
Fencing will be going up around it in June. Trails will still be open to the public with a diverted entrance point.
-Vets Park contract with construction manager was approved. Interviews with architects. JLG were the top pick and have done similar pool
renovation work.
-Pool still has a leak, but opening day is on schedule (June 6)
-Splash pad project is progressing. Ready to pour concrete. Scheduled to open in June.
-Ice Arena busy with tournaments.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Anderson moved, seconded by Vrieze Daniels, to approve the minutes of the joint Sustainability/CSC meeting and the regular April CSC meeting.
Approved by consensus.
