Discussion Items
2024 Work Plan
Youth commissioner: Heinen and Burnside are still reaching out to AHA and looking at a Sept/Oct visit to RHS too, reaching out to Matt
Brown at RHS.
Trash walk: Burk showed commissioners two flyers she created for an event. Commissioners discussed a focus on a park because it's
safer than a street. Burk can coordinate grabbers and gloves with John Evans at the Community Center. Burk to ask WLNC staff if
WLNC after Half-Haunted is a good event to pick up after. She suggested having a youth/commission table at Penn Fest.
EAB: Kueper wants to repeat last year's effort as many residents don't understand their obligations/what to do with their ash tree.
Farmer's Market table and letter to the editor at the Sun Current last year. Lindholm shared that there is staff appetite to send out
info/mailer but not to do a citywide one since that is reserved for elections, open houses, and more critical information sharing. Kueper
wants to include oak wilt and bur oak blight info too. Lindholm to email Mike Hanks about an article in early September or early October
and copy Kueper.
Organics participation: Coordinate curbside edu with events like a pumpkin smash. McCarty is coordinating the event and working with
Communications staff.
