The meeting was called to order at 7:33 p.m.
Item •~1 ILN PLAN REVIEW -
Arils Pakalns, B.R.W. consultant, reviewed the traffic
circulation alternatives and potential traffic volumes which
could be expected if ILN redevelopment occurs. Mr. Pakalns then
reviewed the sub-area land use options, stressing the need to
address traffic circulation in relation to the redevelopment
use. He also indicated that the sub-area land use options
were broad alternatives which could be redeveloped in stages.
Discussion followed regarding the funding of the street-
improvements, property acquisition procedures, the impact of the
street improvements on adjacent areas, and the coordination of
the street improvements with other governmental ,jurisdictions.
Lawrence Wozniczka, 67~~ Wentworth Avenue South, asked that
careful consideration be given to the increased traffic that
will-be attracted to the city by redevelopment and stated his
opposition to the use of tax increment financing for ILN
redevelopment.
Mr. Pakalns responded to questions regarding the buffer-zone
between the residential area and the proposed 77th Street
collector street.
