Item #1 TO DSSCUSS PGTENTIAL DEVELOPr~1ENT OF LEGION LAKE Community Services Director Don Fondrick introduced consultants Muse Gair and Roger Martin and asked them to present the proposed Legion Lake development concepts. Mr. Gair presented a map of the Legion Lake area depicting the various soil qualities of the area and the existing facilities. Mr. Martin presented :pis proposal for development of the Legion Lake site. Tnis proposal featured a scenic drive through the proposed park, an amphitheatre, botanical garden, new Cocranunity Center., experimental housing, bike paths and walk ways. Mr. Gair then reviewed an optional approach to the site development which contained an amphitheatre, driveway, entrance to the property at the corner of both Street and Portland Avenue, walkways, and two housing developments. There was general discussion from representatives of all the- commissions and other interested individuals in the audience on the future direction of the Legion Lake project. The consensus was to develop Legion Lake for park and open space. Staff was directed to obtain a final development plan and cast estimates. ' Joint Meeting Date -2- 3-~$~SS February 1g, 1985
