STAFF PRESENT: James Prosser, City Manager; Thomas Ferber, City Clerk; and Byron Wallace, Community Development Director. OTHERS PRESENT: Camillo DeSantis, Chair RCHSPC; and Jean Fox, Vice Chair RCHSPC. Item #~1 DISCUSSION OF 1993 HUMAN SERVICE PRIORITY RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE RICHFIELD CITY COUNCIL. S.S. LETTER NO. 6 City Manager Prosser reviewed Study Session Letter No. 6 regarding presentation of the 1993 human service priority recommendations from the Richfield Community Human Services Planning Council (RCHSPC). Camillo DeSantis, RCHSPC Chair, reviewed the history and mission of the RCHSPC. Jean Fox, RCHSPC Vice Chair, reviewed the process by which the recommendations were developed and prioritized. DeSantis stated that the top five priorities being ded are: Family and Youth Issues Health Issues Diversity and Community Building Issues Aging Issues Violence and Abuse Issues He stated that the RCHSPC viewed the sixth priority, Communication and Information Issues, having importance as a way to focus on bringing the five top issues to the attention of Richfield residents and as a part of the process of mobilizing resources. Discussion followed regarding the recommendations serving as a guide to focus upon and the role of City Commissions and the South Hennepin Regional Planning Agency in addressing these priorities.
