BOARD OF REVIEW MEETING
JUNE 16, 1986

STAFF PRESENT: Steven Devich, Acting City Manager; Thomas
P. Ferber, City Clerk; and Larry Miller,
Hennepin County Principal Appraiser.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hamilton at 6:08 p.m.
Acting City Manager Devich stated that the Richfield Board
of Review was reconvened to consider two pending appeals which
were not acted on at the June 2, 1986, Board of Review meeting
because of the sudden illness of appellant Dr. Renneke which
resulted in the early ad3ournment of the meeting.
Item #2 APPEAL BY GARY AND JANICE SORREL, ~23.5~ BLOOMINGTON
AVENUE. P.I.D. 35-028-2a-14-0035.
Larry Miller, Hennepin County Principal Appraiser, read a
letter from Gary and Janice Barrel appealing the non-homestead
classification of 7235 Bloomington Avenue for the year 1986. Mr.
Miller stated that the appellant had not met the requirements of
maintaining primary residence at 7235 Bloomington Avenue and,
therefore, he recommended that the Board sustain the assessor's
determination of a non-homestead classification of the property
at 7235 Bloomington Avenue for 1986.
Mr. Devich indicated that Mr. Sorrel telephoned him today to
relate the information in the letter and that he was unable to
attend due to teaching a class on Monday evenings.
M/Sandahl, S/Garcia to sustain the assessor's determination
of a non-homestead classification of the property at 7235
Bloomington Avenue P.I.D. 35-028-24-14-0035) for the Year 1986.
Motion carried 6-0.

Item #2 APPEAL BY WILLIAM RENNEKE, 7533 SHERIDAN AVENUE.
P.I.D. 32-028-24-41-0050.
Acting City Manager Devich compared the value of the subject
property to comparable properties and recommended that the Board
sustain the assessor's determination of the Estimated Market
Value of this property.
Board discussion followed regarding the fact that the
commercial portion of the home would not now be used as a
dentist's office and the affect of this space on the
determination of the Estimated Market Value.
Larry Miller, Hennepin County Principal Appraiser, stated
that for the 1986 assessment, this property was properly.
classified as residential/commercial because the dental office
was operating on January 2, 1986, the time of classification. He
stated the property would be reevaluated for the 1987 assessment
for classification and Estimated Market Value.
M/Sandahl, S/Kirsch to sustain the assessor's determination
of $96 6000 as the Estimated Market Value of the ro ert located
7533 Sheridan Avenue P.I.D. 32-028-24-41-0050).
Motion carried 6-0.
