The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hamilton at 5:~2 P.M.
Item ~~1 PRESENTATION ON CITY'S ENERGY CONSERVATION PROGRAM.

Bruee-Nordquist, Housing Specialist, reviewed Council Letter
No. 325 evaluating the performance of the last two years of the
"Bundle Up Richfield" Residential Energy Conservation Program.
Mr. Nordquist explained the program planned for the 1985/1986
heating season and requested extension of the Residential Energy
Technician position through December 1986. The establishment of
a full time Energy Technician position for fiscal year 1986
would be funded by $23,000 from the City's General. Fund as .
proposed in the 1986 Budget.
Bob Palrud, Energy Technician, reviewed the content of the
Neighborhood Energy Workshop program.
Mark Sehoenbaum, D.E.E.D., commended Richfield for its
leadership in energy related programs.
Council Member Ludeman suggested a copy of the staff report
be given to the Energy Awareness Commission and that the
possibility of combining the Recycling and Energy programs under
one staff person be explored.
It was the consensus of the Council Members that the Energy
Program was achieving successful participation results in the
community.
