Item ~1 ILN PLAN REVIEW
Arijs Pakalns, B.R.W.~consultant, reviewed the traffic
circulation alternatives and potential traffic volumes which
could be expected if ILN redevelopment occurs. Mr. Pakalns then
reviewed the sub-area land use options, stressing the need to
address traffic circulation in relation to the redevelopment
use. He also indicated that the sub-area land use options
were broad alternatives which could be redeveloped in stages.
Discussion followed regarding the funding of the street
improvements, property acquisition procedures, the impact of the
street improvements on adjacent areas, and the coordination of
the street improvements with other governmental jurisdictions.
Lawrence Wozniezka, 6744 Wentworth Avenue South, asked that
careful consideration be given to the increased traffic that
will be attracted to the city by redevelopment and stated his
opposition to the use of tax increment financing For ILN
redevelopment.
Mr. Pakalns responded to questions regarding the buffer zone
between the residential area and the proposed 77th Street
