SPECIAL MEETING - ELECTION CANVASS

Call to Order 7:00 P.M.
COUNCIL PRESENT: John Hamilton, Howard Bunce, Ivan Ludeman, Martin

STAFF PRESENT: John Cartwright, City Manager; Marshall Raaen,
Technical Operations Coordinator; Sylvia Bergh, City
Clerk; and, John Dean, City Attorney
PUBLIC PRESENT: Michael Sandahl, Council Elect, and Reed Skogerboe,
- Republican Party Observer
City Attorney John Dean outlined the State Statute that mandated this
evening's meeting, M.S. 20.18, Canvassing Board to Inspect Machines. Mr.
Dean distributed a resolution determining the need for this meeting for council
members review.

The assemblage then drove to the City Garage at 7700 Pillsbury Avenue
to inspect the voting machines.
All guests examined summary statements that had been completed by election
judges on the night of the election and compared these tallies against the
numerical counters on the voting machines. Reed Skogerboe was particularly
interested in verifying data from Precinct 3A, Sheridan Hills School, and
Precinct 5B, Richfield Junion High School. Approximately one dozen machines
were checked against corresponding summary statements. No discrepancies were
