SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
August 22, 1983
The city council of the City of Richfield met in special
session in the conference room of the city hall on Monday, August
22, 1983 at 5:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor John Hamilton at
5:40 p.m.
Present: Bunce, Hassenstab, Kirsch, Ludeman, Priebe, Hamilton
Also present was Mr. Loren L., Law, the executive search
consultant previously hired by the city council.
1. Discussion concerning the Recruitment of a City Manager
Mr. Law gave council members a status report about the recruit-
went. Five candidates would be in the city Friday and Saturday,
August 26 and 27. Friday morning, candidates are to have break-
fast with the Mayor, followed by a tour and lunch with the Mayor
and department directors.
Mr. Law reviewed the schedule of individual interviews to
be held by the council on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
Mr. Law also reviewed the plans for a tour for candidate's spouses.
Mr. Law urged council members to.prepare for the interviews by
having the candidate's prof Iles in mind and prepared questions to
ask. He also reviewed the evaluation format with council members.
Council members discussed final arrangements for the inter-
views and the process to be follow'
