BOARD OF REVIEW
CONTINUED HEARING
June 13, 1983
The Board of Review of the City of Richfield met in continued session on
June 13, 1983 at 7:00 p.m. in the council chambers of the city hall.
Mayor Hamilton called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Present: Bunce, Hassenstab, Kirsch, Priebe, Hamilton
Absent: Ludeman
Prior to opening the hearing, Mr. Myron Gunderson, a local contractor,
6601 Knox, appeared. He said he had recently purchased 50 foot lots that require
variances to be buildable and he wishes to start work in July, 1983. He
requested the council to expedite the variance procedure.
Motion by Priebe, seconded by Hassenstah to urge the planning commission
to hold an extra meeting to hear Mr. Gunderson's requests.
All ayes - Carried. Absent - Priebe.
The Board of Review considered the following appeals that were presented
at the Meeting of June 1, 1983:
Mr. Ed Calvin,~7038 James
Motion by Hassenstab, seconded by Kirsch to reduce the 1983 estimated
market value from $80,600 to $75,100, as recommended by the assessor.
All ayes - Carried. Absent - Ludeman.
Mr. Wilmot Holtzman, 7300 Knox Avenue
Motion by Hassenstab, seconded by Kirsch to reduce the 1983 estimated

market value from $71,000 to $64,100, as recommended by the assessor.
All ayes - Carried. Absent - Ludeman.
Mr. Garfield Hoversten, three apartment buildings, 7420 Oliver, 7000 Cedar
Avenue, 6413 Pleasant Avenue
Motion by Hassenstab, seconded by Bunce to reaffirm the assessor's
valuation of these properties.
All ayes - Carried. Absent - Ludeman.

Richard Ziemer, 6229 Xerxes Avenue
Mr. Ziemer appeared and spoke on behalf of his appeal. He cited disparity
of valuations identical to his double bungalow.
Motion by Bunce, seconded by Priebe to reaffirm the assessor's valuation

of this property.
Poll of votes: Ayes - Bunce, Hassenstab, Kirsch, Priebe. Nays - Hamilton.
Absent - Ludeman. Carried.
Ms. Sherry Hoffman, 7420 Portland Avenue
Motion by Hassenstab, seconded by Kirsch to reaffirm the assessor's
valuation of this property.
All ayes - Carried. Absent - Ludeman.
Dr. William Rennecke, 7533 Sheridan Avenue, whose property valuation the
Board of Review had considered at the June 1 meeting, did not appear at this
meeting.
The Board of Review adjourned at 7:40 to move to the agenda of the
regular city council meeting.
