CITY OF RICHFIELD
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
April 26, 1982
The city council of the City of Richfield met in special session on April 26,
1982, at 5:30 p.m. '
Present: Bunce, Hassenstab, Kirsch, Ludeman, Hamilton
City Manager Rar1 Nollenberger described the purpose of the meeting as an informal
discussion of Community Services Department activities and goals. He stated that this
is part of a semiregular study session focusing on activities of the city's major
operating departments.
Community Services Director Don Fondrick described current activities and 1982
goals for the following major areas of departmental responsibility;
1. Energy
2. Golf course tree nursery, fencing and related is-sues
3. Rich Acres Park
4. L/H/N area activities
5. Adams Hill Park landscaping and Bump
6. Capital Improvement Project activities
7. Street lighting maintenance. Mr. Fondrick presented a proposal to create the
position of City Electrician instead of contracting with NSP for street
lighting maintenance services. Councilmembers expressed support for this
proposal and approved it by consensus. The city manager indicated that the
staff would be moving forward with implementing this change.
8. Water plant improvements
9. City building accessibility study
10. Forestry
11. Potential acquisition of property along the west side of Legion Lake.
12. CATV programming
13. Efforts in standardizing park signage
