Joint Meeting
October 19, 1981
The City Council and the Planning Commission of the City of
Richfield met in special joint session in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall on Monday, October 19, 1981 at 6:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Donald Priebe at 6:12 p.m.
Present: Bunce, Collins, Hassenstab, Ludeman, Priebe;
Ahlquist, Anderson (arrived 6:23 p.m.), Blevins,
Hoverson, Kamprud, Ketchum, McDermott-Linstrand
Absent: Ertman, Russell
Acting Planning Commission Chairman Herb Ketcham introduced

Planning Commission members who were to present CIP Projects for
1983; Planning Commission members answered council members' questions
re their recommendations. _
Commissioner Ahlquist reviewed the commission's recommendations
for 1984-85 and 1986.
Commissioner Ketcham presented the commission's recommendations
for 1987 and beyond.
Councilmember Hassenstab asked for a status report on the Lyndale.
Avenue, Lake Shore Drive to 74th Street, improvement project scheduled
for 1981. City Manager Nollenberger indicated that the Commissioner of
Transportation had not finalized a decision re the request for variance
to the width requirements. Commissioner Ketcham indicated that the
Planning Commission had expressed concern about the design proposal
which would provide that the city acquire some land in order to
straighten the roadway.
