- CONTINUED SESSION
June 8, 1981
The Board of Review of the City of Richfield met in continued. session in
the council chambers of the city hall on Monday, June 8, 1981 at 6:30 p.m.
Present: Council members Bunce, Collins, Hassenstab, Ludeinan, Priebe,
resident members Harry Tickner and Harley Witte and City Assessor Vern Anderson.
The Board of Review considered the appeal of Gordon Strom, owner of the
following properties:
6500 Lyndale Avenue 27-028-24-23-0069 (Wendy's)
6520 Lyndale Avenue 27-028-24-23-0070 (Kenny's Yamaha)
6532-38 Lyndale Avenue 27-028-24-23-0004 (Hub Stationery)
729 West 65th Street 27-028-24-23-0071 (Coif Drapery)
Mr. Strom appeared and protested his assessment, indicating that he believed
there should be no increase in valuation because of the moratorium on expansion
in the "Godfather Block", which had been imposed by the city council. He said he

could go along with a 5% increase in valuation, however.
City Assessor Vern Anderson stated that he did not say the valuation increase
would be limited to 5°J°.
Motion by Bunce, seconded by Collins to sustain the assessor's valuation for
property at 6500 Lyndale Avenue-, Wendy's, at $285,000.
All ayes - Carried.
The City Assessor presented data to substantiate the valuation placed on the
property at 6520 Lyndale Avenue, occuped by Kenny's Yamaha at $165,000. Mr. Strom
indicated he had no comments.
Motion by Bunce, seconded by Witte to sustain the assessor's valuation for
this property.
All ayes - Carried.

The City Assessor presented data to substantiate the valuation placed on the
property at 6532-38 Lyndale (Hub Stationery).
Motion by Bunce, seconded by Tickner to sustain the assessor's valuation
of $220,000 for this property.
All ayes - Carried.
729 W. 65th Street - Vacant Lot
Motion by Bunce, seconded by Tickner to sustain the assessor's valuation
of $26,000 for this property.
All ayes - Carried.
Motion by Ludeman, seconded by Hassenstab to close the hearing.
All ayes - Carried.
