City Manager's Revenue Sharing Hearing
August 20, 1979
Karl Nollenberger, City Manager, held a special hearing
on August 20, 1979 at 5:00 p.m. in the council chambers of
city hall after duly publishing notice of the hearing in the
city's .official newspaper. Also present at the hearing were
four council members (Mayor Law, Council Members Jacobsen,
Luettinger and Ludeman) and four city staff members, Director
of Public Safety, Thomas Morgan; Director of Parks and Recre-
ation, Don Fondrick; Director of Planning and Redevelopment,
Richard Krier, and Administrative Assistant, Joyce Wilde.
Also in attendance was Paul Gustafson of the Richfield Sun.
No citizens appeared concerning usage of revenue sharing monies.
The City Manager described the use of revenue sharing funds
for 1979 and possible uses in 1980. In addition, the City
Manager gave a rundown of the current status of the 1980 budget
preparation. One item which was included in the budget discussion
was the fire department proposal to increase the firefighter
complement by three people and eliminate the volunteer fire de-
partment program. After discussion, the city council stated
that-they were. in favor of seeing a more detailed recommendation
in the 1980 budget proposal.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
