Special Meeting - Continued Budget Hearing
September 24, 1976
The Richfield City Council met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall.on
September 24 ,1976 at 5:00 PM to continue discussion of the proposed 1977 budget.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Law.
Present: Jacobsen, Ludeman, Luettinger, Law
Absent: Anderson (Arrived at 5:45 PM)
The city manager reviewed the Environmental and Nursing division of the
Health Department budget. Considerable discussion was held regarding the Public
Health Nursing Service and the city manager requested the council to maintain
the option of pursuing alternative choices in providing this service.
Councilman Anderson arrived.
Don Fondrick reviewed the Administration, Maintenance, Nature Center, Swimming

Pool and Ice Arena activities of the Parks and Recreation budget.
Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Law to direct the administration to research
the city's agreement with Hennepin County regarding the Wood Lake Nature Center
and charging of admission fees.
All ayes - Carried.
The council considered a resolution certifying the property tax levy, but
then indicated a desire to hold additional discussion on the proposed budget.
Lawrence Wozniczka, 6744 Wentworth Avenue, spoke in opposition to adopting
the tax levy at this time.
The city manager reported that there would be a joint facilities committee
meeting with the school district on October 14, 1976 at 5:00 PM in the city hall,
There was also discussion on when there would be a joint school board and city
council meeting and it was tentatively agreed to arrange for Thursday, November 4.

Council also considered additional dates for continued budget review;
Tuesday, September 28 at 8:00 PM and Tuesday, October 5 at 7:00 PM were agreed
upon.
Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Anderson that the meeting adjourn.
