11-08-1974 CanvassCITY OF RICHFIELD BOARD OF CANVASS November 8, 1974 In accordance with Election Laws (205.6, 209.04) the council of the City of Richfield met as the Board of Canvass during the special session of the city council to canvass the results of the city's general election held on November 5, 1974. Present: Anderson, Jacobsen, Kenealey, Luettinger Absent: Law Meeting called to order by President pro-tem George Kenealey. The city clerk presented the following tabulation of votes: Councilman Ivan Ludeman 5,460 Vern Luettinger 6,568 John H. Mattison 3,108 Harry McLenighan 5,009 (Write-In) George Kenealey 1 Total Number of Registered Voters 23,567 Total Number Voted 13,434 Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Anderson, that the following resolution be adopted; that it be spread in the resolution book and that it be made a part of these minutes: RESOLUTION N0. 5274 RESOLUTION DETERMINING RESULTS OF CITY GENERAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF RICHFIELD HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 1974 Po11 of votes: Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Kenealey, Luettinger. Nayes - None. Absent - Law. Carried. This resolution appears as Resolution No. 5274 in Resolution Boob No. '1"he city manager advised council members as a matter of information that the planning commission, at their meeting on November 7, 1974, had recommended that the Roosevelt Park project be deferred if such action were necessary to provide for Public Safety Department remodeling in 1976. Council members dis- cussed this matter and supported continuation of the Roosevelt Park project -2- November 8, 1974 inasmuch as a commitment had already been made by the city and initial efforts 1 had already been made to initiate the project. Council members indicated awareness of the fact that other alternatives were available when considering the Public Safety Department remodeling project.
