John Curran, Youth Service Coordinator, regsorted on the operaiion of the Richfield Siorefront~ 0 5 October 23, 1973 Tim Jeffery also reported on required Local matching.~unds for third year operation of the Storefront. Motion by Kenealey, seconded by Luettinger, that the council continue to support the Storefront program and indicate an intent to provide the necessary local funding (to the extent that other monies are not made available) for the third year of operation from 8~1~74 to 7~31~75 and that the city manager be directed to take the following actions: Communicate to the Crime Commission the concern of the city council over the lack of LEAA funds or other state funds for the non41oca1 share of third year funding. Communicate to the governor and our state legislators infor- mation on the successful operation of the Storefront and the need for more desirable funding arrangements on the part of the Crime Co~nission. e Obtain an opinion on the use of revenue sharing funds for the amount of municipal contribution over and above the federally required local cash match. o Obtain an opinion on whether this constitutes the type of situ ation whereby funds from the unallocated account in the 1974 budget could be used. - Pursue the proposal now under consideration for a county wide youth service bureau system. e Attempt to solicit other sources of funding to help provide the necessary local funding for the third-year of operation, A11 ayes o Carried.
