BUDGET HEARING
October 1, 1973
Pursuant to the hearing of September 17, 1973, the council reconvened to
continue the budget meeting as a special session on Monday, October 1, 1973, at
7x00 P.M., in the council chambers of the city ha11, 6700 Portland Avenue,
Present: Councilmen - Anderson, Jacobsen, Kenealey and Luettinger.
Mayor - Law.
Absent: None.
Gary Eide, Acting City Manager, presented a staff recommendation to reduce the
total proposed 1973 tax levy by $76,000, and to adjust the total General Fund budget
for 1974 to $3,705,896, due primarily to adjusting the city°s contribution to the
Relief Association Retirement Funds because of the 1973 actuaries.
The following staff persons were present and answered questions regarding the

proposals in the various departmental budgets:

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, to retain city's membership in the
various organizations as proposed in the budget.
Po11 of votes: Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger and Law. Nayes - Kenealey.
Absent - None. Carried,

Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Anderson, to close the hearing.
A11 ayes - Carried.
Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Anderson, to approve the proposed revised 1974
budget as recommended by the staff.

It was agreed that council deliberation on the budget resolutions would be in-
eluded on the agenda for the regular council meeting of October 9, 1973.
Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Luettinger, that the meeting be adjourned. ,
