September 13, 1973
Pursuant to the hearing of September 12, 1973, the council reconvened to
continue the budget meeting as a special session on Thursday, September 13, 1973,
at 7000 p.m,, in the council chambers of the city hall, 6700 Portland Avenue.
Presenta Councilmen m Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, and Mayor Law.
Absents Councilman Kenealey, (Away on business),
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Law,
The city manager reviewed additional information regarding proposed taxe$ to
support the 1974 proposed budget, and the city council discussed the following budget
activities;
1, HEALTH.
I. F. Roesler, Environmental Health I2irector, explained his requests for the
divisions under his jurisdiction -
Environmmental and Nursing
Public Welfare
Animal Control
Lawrence Wozniczka, 6744 Wentworth Avenue, and Earl Maffett, 6745 Harriet Ave,,
appeared and spoke in interest,
2, PARK AN1) RECREATION.
Harvey Feldman, TSirector of Park and Recreation, gave an explanation of the
proposals for the several divisions for which he is responsible, namely -
Administration
Park Maintenance
Nature Center
Swimming Pool
Ice Arena
Recreation
Mrs, Gertrude Ulrich, 7601 Aldrich Avenue, appeared and spoke in interest
regarding the above activities.

September 17, 1973
Robert Jackson, 7301 11th Avenue, raised several questions regarding
the apartment inspection program.
Ken Kunz, 2920 West 78th Srxeet, spoke in opposition to the inspection
program .
Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Law that the hearing be closed and
that the adoption of the budget be deferred to the next regular council meeting.
All ayes -carried.
Adjournment
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Luettinger, that the meeting be adjourned.
All ayes -carried. Time: 9:35 p.m.
