CITY OF RICHFIELD
SPECIAL MEETING
BUDGET HEARING
September 21, 1972
Pursuant to the hearing of September 8, 1972, the council reconvened to
continue the budget meeting as a special session on Thursday, September 21, 1972,
at 7:00 p.m., in the council chambers of the city hall, 6700 Fortland Avenue.
'The meeting was called to order by Mayor Law.
present: Councilmen - Anderson, Jacobsen, Kenealey, Luettinger, and Mayor
Law.
Absent: -None.
Lawrence Wozniczka, 6744 Wentworth Avenue, presented a general letter for "
council consideration in deliberating the proposed 1973 budget. (C-9428).
Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, that the administration be directed
to set up a-joint .meeting with the school board, legislators, and the city council
regarding the levy limits imposed by the 1971 legislature and proposed levies for
1973.
A11 ayes - Carried.
Motion by Kenealey, seconded by Luettinger, that all department heads be
pr~,sent when discussing their departmental budgets.
Po11 of votes: Ayes - Jacobsen,. Kenealey, Luettinger and. Law.- Nayes -Anderson.
Carried.

Motion by Law, seconded by Kenealey, to delete all funds for management
training ($6.,000) from the personnel budget activity.
All, ayes - Carried.

Motion by Law, seconded by Kenealey, that the ordinance code be revised so that
salary increases o£ ea~ploy~es:with annual salaries of $12,000 or more be approved by
the. city council up®n the city manager's recommendation.

Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Law, to continue the hearing on the proposed 1973
budget to Monday, October 2, 1972, at 7:00 p.m., at the city hall.
