10-06-1970 Budget HearingCITY OF RICHFIELD SPECIAL MEETING BUDGET HEARING October 6, 1970 Pursuant to the budget hearing of October 5, 1970, the council reconvened to continue the budget meeting as a special session on Tuesday, October 6, 1970, in the council chambers of the city hall, 6700 Portland Avenue, at 6:30 P. M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Olson, Present Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Law, and Olson. Absent - Olson. 6. Health -Environmental and Nursing. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Law, that Account ~lOlO.be reduced $4,732, to a total for this Account of $19,725, and that Account ~~1020 be increased $4,816, (for two part-time employees) to a total for this Account of $4,816. Po11 of votes: Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, and Law. Nayes - none. Absent - Olson. City Manager reported that the contract with Suburban Hennepin County Nursing Service had increased from $13,930 to $16,053, an increase of $2,123, which was based on population increase and a per capita cost increase from 29~ to 34G. 7. Animal Control. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Law, that Account ~~1130 be reduced by $1,078, to a total for this Account of $15,400, Poll of votes: Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Law. Nayes - none. Absent - Olson, Councilman Luettinger voiced his opposition to the total expenditure for 1 this division, 8. Public Works - Streets, Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that council approve the capital outlay for a striping machine in the Street Division, in the amount of $1,0.00. Poll of votes: Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Law, Nayes - none, Absent - Olson, Yt was agreed that the budget activity containing the salt purchase requirements be approved as proposed. Calculators Motion by Anderson, seconded by Law, that the following calculators, in Capital Outlay Accounts, be purchased; 1 Calcula-tor - Budget and Research, in the amount of $475 2 Calculators- Accounting Division, in the amount of $850 1 Calculator - Assessing Division, in the amount of $475 1 Calculator - Engineering Division, in the amount of $1,000, and that the following calculators be deleted from Capital Outlay Accounts; 1 Calculator - Assessing Division, less $425 1 Calculator - Planning Department, less $475 2 Calculators- Engineering Division, less $1,250 1 Poll of votes: Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Law. Nayes -None. Absent - Olson. 10. Adjournment. Motion by Law, seconded by Luettinger, that the meeting be recessed to Friday, October 9, 197 A, at 6;00 p.m. A11 ayes - Carried.
