SPECIAL MEETING
BUDGET HEARING
September 30, 1970
Pursuant to public notice, the second hearing on the 1971 proposed budget was
held in special session on Wednesday, September 30, 1970, in the council chambers of
the city hall, 6700 Portland Avenue, at 7:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Olson.
Present: Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger and Olson.
Absent: Law.
The Personnel section of the Executive Department's budget was reviewed and no
changes made.
The council reviewed the Budget and Research section of the Executive~Department
budget, Account 101-4022, and decided to withhold a decision on the capital outlay item
of $475 for a calculator;
The council reviewed the proposed Legal budget, Motion by Olson, seconded by
Anderson to delete $500, from Account No. 1130, and revise the budget to $23,500.
Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Olson. N'ayes - none, Absent - Law.
Motion by Olson, seconded by Luettinger, to delete attendance at the National
League of Cities Conference, Account No. 1210, and to deduct from that account the sum
of $570.
Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Olson, Nayes - none. Absent - Law.
The council reviewed the Accounting Department budget and decided to withhold a
decision on the capital outlay item of $8~0 for two calculators,
The City Clerk's budget was reviewed and no changes made. The Election budget was
also reviewed and no changes made.
The council reviewed the Assessing budget and decided to withhold a decision on
the capital outlay item of $900 for two calculators.
The council reviewed the budget for the Planning Department. Mr, Lawrence R.
Woznicka, 6401 16th Avenue, appeared in interest; and Mr, Lester E. Bullock, 6412 15th
Avenue, also appeared.

Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, to delete $10,000 from Professional
Services, Account 1130, to bring the total to $12,500.
Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger. Nayes - none. Absent - Law.
The council decided to withhold a decision on the capital outlay item of $475 for
a calculator for the Planning Department.
Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Olson, to delete the Planning Chairman's
attendance at the National Conference, and that the amount of $400 be deducted from
Account 1210, to revise that account to $800.
Ayes - Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Olson. Nayes - none. Absent - Law.
Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Luettinger, to adjourn the meeting to Monday,
