September 17, 1970
Pursuant to public notice, the hearing on the 1971 proposed budget was held
in special session on `Thursday, September 17, 1970, in the council chambers of
the city ha11, 6700 Portland Avenue, at 7:00 PeM,
The meeting was called to order by Mayor 01son,
Presents Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Law and 01son,
Absento None,
The city manager reviewed the overmall proposed 1971 budget plan,
T"ne following persons appeared and generally expressed their concern about
the present high rate of taxes and encouraged the council to "hold the-•line", and,
if possible, endeavor to keep the mi11 rate at its present 1evele

The Mayor~Council budget was discussed, Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Law,
that the amount of X1,'700, under "Contractual Services" in the Mayor~Council budget,
be deleted and that no delegates be allowed to attend the NLC Conference in Honolulu
in 1971,
'?`he Manager"s budget was reviewed and no changes made,
Motion by Law, sec®nded by Luettinger, that the meeting adjourn,
T'he hearing was continued to Wednesday, September 30, 1970, at 7x00 P.M• in the
city hall c®uncil chambers,
