Mr, Martin gave a short talk in regard to the assessing methods used in valuing
homes on the current market.
Earl Maffet, 6745 Harriet Ave., was opposed to the appraisal value for his
land at 6745 Harriet Ave. of $7,-500. He indicated that he would
have an outside appraisal made and bring it to the county for
review. No changes were made by the board.
John Ristow, 6920 Morgan Ave., questioned the 25% average increase in property
values. His property is valued at $29,700, an .increase of 19%
over 1968, No action.
Robert Broad, 7229 Oak Grove Blvd,, appeared relative to the value of $40,200 on
his property. He feels this increase is too high -for a retired
person. It was suggested that an independent appraiser might de~
termine a lower value. This could then be taken to the county
board for review. No action by local board.
Paul Solberg, 7111 17th Ave. S., felt the increase in his property value from
$23,700 to $28,500 to be too high, No action taken by the board.
Frederic Rowell, 7344 Garfield Ave,, felt the increase in property value for
his 75x133 property from $26,700 to $32,400 (30%) was too high. No
action.
Mr, Hollenb:eck, 1212m16 E. 66th St., (Dairy Queen & beauty shop) appeared because
of his $39,000 value; he felt it wasn't worth over $30,000. He

valuation this would produce. No other action was taken by the board.
