Councilman Jacobsen presented the findings of the Advisory Boardo Counci l
man Randall requested information on difference in retirement pay at 65 ye~.rs and
at 70 yearso
Councilman Anderson requested that he wished to change his vote on the prow
posed firemen es plan on the basis of accident benefits outside working time9
feeling9 aiso9 that the retirement for firemen should be mandatary at 58 yearso
The mayor read a petition from the employees, C®7576
Motion by Randal T9 seconded by Luettinger9 that an amendment to the personm
nei ordinance be prepared for presentation at a special meeting on May 15th for
c~apulsory retirement at 65 years of age for employees9 with a five year °°phase out°'
for present employees in order to allow them time for planning retirements and to
consider a me thod of retaining qualified employees beyond 70 years on a consult
ing basis0
