Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, that the council approve the commercial building permit for Superior 0i1 Co.,`3100 Monterey Ave., to remodel the.gasoiine service station at 7444 Lyndale Ave. All ayes - carried. Improvement Permit.f or Off-Street Parking - 6944 Nicoiiet Ave. William Soules, attorney, appeared and restated the request to improve the aff -street parking at 6944 Nicollet Ave. Caroline Norgren, owner of the apartments at 69th and Nicoliet, stated an objection. L. Damberger, 6933 BlaisdelY Ave., appeared in objection. Bob Gordon, 6937 Nicollet Ave., appeared in objection-and requested closer regulations on service stations. Sid Sanford appeared in support of the appiicant•s request. Motion bq Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that .the council grant the off-street parking improvement permit for Continental Oil Co., 2121 University Ave.,, St. Paul, but that the permit is not to be taken as violating any exist- ing zoning ordinance; that the area be biacktopped; 6 ft, fence adjacent to the boulevard on south side of the property to the west side of the building be in- stalled, and. to be approved by the city engineer and conform to Ordinance #2.09.
