The meeting was called to order by Mayor Olson. Present: Anderson, Jacobsen,~Luettinger, Randall and Olson. Absent: None. Rev. John Henning, Woodlake Lutheran Church, gave the invocation. 1. Petroleum Council, requested de- fermi in order to give them time to study the proposed ordinance, Russell Tips, Area Operations Manager of Pure Oii Co,, asked for time for Study. . Mr, Borgeson, representing the Planning Commission, spoke in favor of the proposed ordinance. Roy Hendrick~son~asked about uniform enforcement.. Lance Bartlett, general contractor, explained that the proposed building was to be of block construction with brick on 78th and UOentworth sides; and decorative shadow block on north and east sides. Advertising Sign.- 220 Vd. 66th St. Irv Dragenburg, Milwaukee, Wis., and Arnie Cox, St. Paul, appeared as applicants, Proper conformance to the sign ordinance was discussed. Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, that the council grant the permit for two ground signs to Clark Oii & Ref fining, 220 W. 66th 5t.,,contingent upon removal of other non conforming signs before- the permit is issued. All ayes - carried. 17. Advertising Sign - 6449 Lyndale Ave. Richard Telke appeared as applicant. Motion by Randall, seconded by Anderson, that the council grant the sign permit to Richfield Lanes, 6449 Lyndale Ave., as shown at the council meeting if $t does not block the existing billiard sign. Parking Problem in Lyndal~ & 76th-77th St. Area Robert Reddick appeared as president of the Chamber of Commerce, represent® ing the business men in the area. Mr. & Mrs. ~?on Anderson, owners of the barber shop also appeared. A discussion took place on the means of controlling off-street -8- Mar. 14, 1966 parking in the area of ?6th to 77th St. on Lyndale Ave. The council decided that the solution of this problem should be handled as an assessable pro3ect with costs to be assessed against the abutting property owners.
