CITY OF RICHFIELD Regular Meeting Sept. 27, 1965 The council of the City of Richfield met in regular session, Monday, September 27, 1965, in the council chambers of the City Ha11, 6700 Portland Ave,' at 7100 P.M• The meeting was called to order by Mayor Olson. Present: Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Randall and Olson. Absent: None. Rev. John Skeie, Oak Grove Lutheran Church, gave the invocation. 1. Minutes; Motion by Anderson, seconded by Randall, that minutes of the regular meeting of Sept. 13, 1965 be approved corrected as follows: Invocation was' given by ASSt. Pastor Robert Ross, and that minutes of the budget hearing, Sept. 20, 1965, be approved. Ali ayes -carried. 2. Reports Fair trading of liquor was discussed. Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Luettinger, that the liquor store re~ port for July' 1965, be accepted and filed. Report on Traffic Survey -Woodlake School & 64th & Penn Sam Pincher, representing Hennepin County Hwy. Dept., appeared. Captain Pioyd Roman and Cy Johnson, police chief, also appeared. Mr. Fischer reported that the use at 64th and Penn Ave, was less than the warrants established by the State Hwy Dept. Counts were taken for 1963, 1964 and 1965. Mr. & Mrs. Nyberg appeared in interest of signs at this location. Mr, Pincher stated that the safest crossing was school patrolled with adult supervision. Motion by Olson, seconded by Luettinger, that the council favor traffic control signals at 64th and Penn Ave. and order adult supervision in addition for the intersection. Ali ayes - carried. Woodlake School and 66th St. speed was discussed. The council requested Mr, Pincher to request the state for a speed study in this area.
