08-30-1965 SpecialCITY OP RICHPIELI} Special Meeting Aug. 30, 1965 In accordance with action taken at the meeting of Aug. 23, 19b5, the council met in special session, Monday, August 30, 1965, in the council chambers, 6700 Portland Ave., at 7:00 P,M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Olson. Present: Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Randall anti Olson. Absent: None. The meeting was called for discussion on approval of Crosstown Highway be- tween 4th Ave. and 12th Ave. Mayor Olson announced that discussion would be conf fined to the 4th to 12th Ave. area; pro3ected traffic count; and why bridge at Bloomington Ave, on the Crosstown Hwy. --Sr« Peterson, county engineer was present as well as Jack Provo, county commissioner. Mrs. James lt,ampert~6015 15th Ave. S,, appeared with questions. Mr. James Lampert, 6015 15th Ave. S,, spoke of probable increase in ~traff ic. I+'Ir, Peterson, county engineer, claimed there would be a reduction to the~1963 count« Mrs, Barl Sack, 7132 Bloomington Ave., questioned increase in,traff is on Bloomington Ave. Jerome Niicheison, 7120 Bloomington Ave,, appeared, Mr, Peterson had stated the bridge at Bloomington would be a computed cost of $165 ~O00. ~3ilis. Peterson, 6400 Bloomington Ave., appeared in interest. Plans for the Crosstown Hwy between 4th Ave« and 12th Ave, were reviewed. Councilman A, P, Anderson was excused, In the matter of closing 62nd 5t, and Bloomington & 12th Ave, tv traffic from coming through into Richfield, the attorney stated that this was legally -2- Aug. 30, 1965 possible and could be considered at any time. Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Luettinger, that the following resolution be adopted; that it be spread in the resolution book and that it be made a part of these minutes: RBSOLiJTION N0. 3489 RESOLUTION RELATING TO APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR PART OF COUNTY PROJECT N0. 6137 (County State Aid-Hwy. No. 62--Crosstown) C-7658 Poll of votes: Ayes - Jacobsen, Luettinger, Randall and Olson. Nags - none. Absent -Anderson. Council accepted Anderson's written approval. Carried. Nays - none. Absent .. Anderson. Council accepted Anderson's written approval. Carried. This resolution appears as resolution #3491 in resolution book #22. -3- Aug. 30~ 1965 Motion by Randall,-seconded by Jacobsen, that the attorney be instructed to draft a resolution putting forth objection to Bloomington Ave. bridge in principle because of willingness to provide services to the homes on a con- tractual basis. Ail ayes - carried. Motion by Olson, seconded by Luettinger, that it was the intent to close off Bloomington and 15th Ave. if the traffic at a later date were heavy enough to make it feasible. All ayes - carried, Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, that the meeting be adjourned. Ail ayes -carried.
