10-05-1964 Budget HearingVILLAGE OF RICHPIBLD budget Hearin Oct. 5, 1964 Pursuant to action ta&en at the meeting of Sept. 28th, a budget hearing was held by the Village Council in the council chsmbers of the Village Hali~ 6700 1?ortlan d Ave., Monday, Oct, 5, 1964 at 7;00 P.Mo The meeting was called to arder by Mayor Olson. Presents Andersono Jacobsen, Lue stinger, Randall and Olson, Absenss None. Four representatives from the Citizens' Tax Comma.°~tee were present, Elmer Hiilner was present representing Richf laid Safety Council. Civil Defense Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that item 36 (supplies and materials) be cut to $600.00. Ali ayes carried. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that she council grant the Safety Counci]: allocation of $250.00. All ayes carried. Motion by Luettinger, seconded bV Jacobsen, that rents and leases be deimted from the Civil Defense budge t°. All ayes m carriedo Motion try Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that the utilities for Civil Defense tae reduced to $100000. All ayes ~ carried, Motion say Anderson, seconded by Rsndalig th~.t the Civil Defense budget be approved as amended. All ayes carried, Animal Control Motion by Randall, seconded by Jacobsen, that the Animal consrol budget be approved. Motion by Lue ttinger, seconded by Jacobsen, that the Street budget be ap- proved as amended. Ali ayes -carried. 'treet Lighting A discussion was held on the possibility of the operating costs for peti- tinned street lighting be assessed against benefited property owners. Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, that the street lighting bud- get be approved with a study and report to be made as possibility of assessing in 1965. A11 ayes - carried.. Motion by Luettinger, seconded bq Anderson, that item #30 (off ice supplies) be reduced to $150.00. Ali ayes - carried. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Randall, that item #34, (shop supplies) be reduced to $25.00. A11 ayes - carried. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that item #36 (misc. supplies) be reduced to $5Q.00. Ali ayes - carried. Motion by Olson, seconded by Luettinger, that the council refer question of health benefits through the Suburban Henn. County Relief Board to larger municipalities (Health & Welf are Committee of Hennepin County League of Muni- cipalities). All ayes -carried. -3- Oct. 5, 1964 Motion by Luettinger, seconded bar Jacobsen, that the Health current ex- pense budget be approved as amended. Ail ayes -carried.. Contingencies Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Anderson, that the council approve the ap- propriation for Contingencies. Ali ayes - carried. PBRA Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Luettinger, that the proposed 1965 budget for PBRA be approved. A11 ayes -carried. Park ~_ Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, that the Park budget be ap- proved. All ayes - carried. Poor Fund Motion by Anderson, seconded by Randall, that the council approve the Poor Fund budget for 1965. All ayes - carried. Sewer Billing and Collection Motion by Anderson, seconded by Randall, that the council approve the billing and collections - Sewer Operating budget. Ali ayes -carried. A discussion was held on possibility of using 3rd class mail for send- ing bills. Sewer Maintenance Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that the council approve the Sewer Maintenance current expense budget. Ail ayes - carried. Water - Billine & Collection Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Luettinger, that the Water Billing and Collection budget be approved. Ali ayes - carried. Motion by Anderson, seconded bq Jacobsen, that the Water Maintenance budget be approved.
