07-18-1964VILLAGE OP RICHFIELD Board of Review July 18, 1964 ~°Yie council of the Village of Richfield met as the Board of Review in the Council Chambers, 6700 Portland Ave., Saturday, July 18, 1964, at 9:q0 A.M. in accordance with action at the meeting of July 14th. Present: Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Randall and Olson. Absent: None. Councilman Jacobsen presided. George Sund represented Hennepin County. Kinsey Daniels, 6805 13th Ave. 5. CPiat 46190, parcel 46) objected to new valuation including basement alteration. Motion by Randall, seconded by Luettinger, that the land remain the same and strut ter the same, $15,500.00 Ali ayes - carried. Jos. P. Martin, 7645 14 th Ave. S, appeared objecting. Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Randall, that the same action be taken as others in this block, a reappraisal be made for effect of apartments. All ayes - carried. Mrs. Paul V. Swanson, 6845 Sheridan Ave. CPlat 46793, Parcel 1245) ob- jetting to valuation. Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Randall, that struc- furs valuation be reduced $300 to bring value to $14,923. Aii ayes - carried. Harold Roed, 6745 13th Ave. S., appeared protesting high valuation CPlat 46190, Plat 3610). Motion by Olson, seconded by Luettinger, that the structure value be reduced to $12,900. All ayes - carried. Mrs. Prank Johnson, 6533 Girard Ave. S. (Plat 44828, parcel 5600) com- plained of high valuation. Motion by Olson, seconded by Luettinger, that the iancl value be returned to original value because of freeway--total $14,200000. All ayes - carried. Carlton Johnson, 7010 Penn Ave. CPlat 46350, Plat 145) protested that taxes were too high. Norman Teetzel, ?200 Sheridan Ave. S., protested the high valuation. Motion by Randall, seconded by Anderson, that he see the assessor to round off figures; $6.00 difference in land. All ayes a carried. B. ~. Simpson, 7620 1st Ave, S. (Plat 45100, Plat 5000) complained that taxes were too high. Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, that he meet with assessor to see about rounding off figureso ?~li ayes carried. Harold Raymond, 7626 Bloomington Ave, (Plat 46565, Parcel 3?00) wanted value of garage and consideration for "S~tylark Apts41, Motion by Raretall, seconded by Anderson, that land be reduced to $2700. Randall, that the land valuation be reduced to $2850® All ayes «~ carried. Mr. Jaclcelen, 7227 Blaisdell Ave, (Plat 45920, Plat 600) protested his valuation of $15,900. Motion by Randall,. seconded by Luettinger, that the valuation remain as it is. All ayes m carried® Bernard Lesmeister, 7620 Garfield Ave. CPlat 46710, Parcel 6000) claimed value was too high. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Luettinger, that his valuation remain the same, but that he meet with the assessor to tape into consideration the proximity to commercial property. Blg, 1806 ~. 66th St. (Parcel 5175) objected to high valuation. -3- July 18, 1964 Motion by Randall, seconded by Anderson, that the structure be reduced $525., and that land be left at same figure making a total of $14,400.00. All ayes - carried. Neil Jensen, 6331 Logan Ave.. S., appeared. No action; no complaint. The Board of Review adjourned for lunch and reconvened in afternoon with Mayor Olson presiding. Ali members present. Robert Rnock, 7111 18th Ave. S. (Plat 45315, Parcel 2000) appeared. Motion by Qison, seconded by Jacobsen, that $375.00 be removed from valuation as error in computation. All ayes - carried. Arvin Anderson, 7244 12th Ave. S. (Plat 45382, Parcel 800) appeared. Motion by Anderson, seconded bq Luettinger, that this parcel be referred back to assessor for equalization with neighbor's valuation. All ayes - carried. L1ogd Stromback, 7200 14th Ave. S., 7200 14th Ave. S. (Plat 45383, Plat 3150) questioned why the difference between two iden tical homes. Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Randall, that the assessor check the per square foot figure for the two houses. All ayes -carried. B. A. Schiader, 6525 Oliver Ave. 5,, (Plat 45356, Parcel 3925) claimed his valuation was too high and did not compare with neighbor*s. Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Luettinger, that a letter be sent to 6521 Oliver Ave.S. {Plat 45356, Parcel 3950) as figures were transposed on letterg value in- crease $1000 market value with $36.35 tax increase; letter sent 7/18/64. Ali ayes -carried. Sid Sanford, 7000 Portland Ave., (Plat 4639 q`~Parcel.= 'ed to total $21,500.00 for his property. Motion by Olson, seconded by Luettinger, that the assessor make a new appraisal. A11 ayes - carried. Frank Wardowski, 7533 Biliott Ave. (Plat 45786, Plat 5900) appeared. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that $600 be removed from valuation -4m July Ls, 1964 as error in computing breezeway and that reassessment in area be made for corrections. A11 ayes -carried. Je He Richmond, 7065 Oak Grove Blvd., appeared protesting that taxes were much higher than neighbor°s. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that it being a new house, a 5% incompletion on building be made to see what tax wi 11 be. A11 ayes m carried. Bdwin Ackerman, 7420 4th Ave, 5.
