VILLAGE OP RICHFIELD Regular Meeting May 25, 1964 The council of the Village of Richfield met in regular session, Monday, May 25, 1964, in the councir chambers of the Village Haii, 6700 Portland Ave., at 7x00 P.M. The, meeting was called to order by Mayor Olson, Present: Anderson, Luettinger, Randall and Olson. Absent: Jacobsen. (Attending Conference of Mayors in New York Councilman Anderson gave the invocation. 1. Minute Motion by Randall, seconded by Anderson, that the minutes. of the regular meeting of Map T1, 1964 be approved corrected as follows: Page $, Item 10, (Poll of Resolution 32087 to include a Nay vote for Olson. Page 13, Item 28, correction of spelling "Spartan'! All ayes -carried. 2. Bill No. 1964-8 (Amendment to Ord. 3.02) Motion by Randall, seconded by Olson, that this bill be tabled. Ali ayes - carried. 3. Motion by Raruiall, seconded by Anderson, that the council grant the appli- cation of Socony Mobil Oil Co., 606 Vandalic St., 5t. Paul, far a commercial building permit to construct a service station at 7645 Nicollet Ave. Poll of votes: Ayes -Anderson, Randall. Nays - Luettinger, Olson. Absent - Jacobsen. Motion lost. It was stated that outside storage would require council approval, The parking area was discussed. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Luettinger, that the application of John A, Marshall, 6617 5th Ave,, for a commercial building permit be deferred to June 22, 1964. All ayes -carried. 14. Bid - Surfaci~ of Tennis Courts (Donaldson Park) Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Randall, that minutes of the bid«~opening of May 19, 1964, on surfacing of tennis courts in Donaldson Park be approved, Ail ayes - carried. Bid - Fence for Tennis Courts (Donaldson Park) Motion by Anderson, seconded by Luettinger, that minutes of the bid-opening of May 19, 1964, on fence for tennis courts at Donaldson Park be approved. Commission and New Appointment Motion by Olson, seconded by Randall, that the letter of resignation from David B, Clark, May 7, 1964, as a member of the Planning Commission be accepted and that the councir thank Mr, Clark for his service on the Commission, All ayes m carried. Offerman of Colony Rentals regarding heavy traffic on service road at rear of apartments at 6214 and 6220 Oliver Ave. was read. Motion by Randall, seconded by Luettinger, that G. P. Discussion on Sidewalk on Penn Ave. A discussion was held on sidewalks for west side of Penn Ave, to be in- stalled while paving is in progress. No action was taken. 20. Spartan Sparkle {porkers The council suggested that workers on Spartan Sparkle Days painting 1 on warming houses (2 shades) be given refreshments for their help and two hours swimming time at the pool. Ali ayes - carried. 31. Parinlts of Discussion The pr©posed bicycle path around Woad Lake was discussed. It was suggested that "No Parking on Park Property" signs be erected on village property. 32.
