Kovalik, St. Peter*s Catholic Church, gave the invocation. 1. Minutes Motion by Euettinger, seconded by Randall!, that minutes of the regular meeting o£ Feb. 24, 1964, be approved as corrected by the addition of the following to Item 5 (Milner Pond), "It was brought out that dirt taken off Nicoilet Ave. was placed on private parking lot at 6508-10 Nicollet Ave °' 1 ayes - carried. Set Date of Hearing - Special Use Permit m 7532 Dupont Ave. Motion by Randall, seconded by Anderson, that the council authorise the clerk to advertise a hearing on the application of Richard J, Pederson, 7532 Dupont Ave., for a special use permit for permission to park vehicle at 7532 Dupont Ave. S.; hearing to be March 23, 1964, applicant to furnish petitions of approval from ad3oining property owners. Project No. 508 COrnam~n°tal Street Lighting) .It being 7:15 P.M. Mayar Olson called for the hearing on Village Project No. 508 and read the notice of hearing, 06® Mar. 9, 1964 Mr. Welshon, representing N. 5, Power Co., presented drawings made by Northern States Power Co. on ornamental lighting on Lyndale Ave. The residents~n__.,the area of 6th and Lyndale Ave. wished to have their properties removed from the improvement area. Joe Hauser, 66th & Lyndale Ave,, spoke in favor of having lights from Lakeshore Drive to 62nd St. with no limitations.. It was stated that Gust Faliden, owner of property in this area, was in favor of ornamental lighting extending to 62nd St. Gordon Strom appeared. Mr. Barr requested a 20-gear assessment for lighting, curb and gutter. The council felt that a Comparative study of assessments should be made for IO year and 20 year periods for preparation of the assessment rolls. Motion'by Randall, seconded by Anderson, that the hearing be closed. Ali ayes •• carried. The existing light poles are to be moved to the rear of the buildings. The village attorney pointed out that this would be a point to consider when the contracts were prepared. Aii ayes - carried, C-7161 A motion by .Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, was made to have the off- street parking layout at 7300 Cedar Ave, approved including a 5 foot cedar basketweave fence along west property line with shrubbery optional. Motion withdrawn. Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Olson, that the council give tentative approval to the off-street parking layout at 7300 Cedar Ave, for 26 parking spaces, and a 5 foot cedar basketweave fence along west side of property with shrubbery optional. Mr. Pournier.of.Fournier Tree Service suggested that the Univ. of Minn. had recommended spraying trees in a SOO f t. areas when a case of Dutch Elm disease is found. M~.
