03-02-1964VILLAGB OF RICAFIBLD Adjourned Meeting March 2, 1964 Pursuant to action taken at the meeting of February 17, 1964, the council. of the Village of Richf field met in the Village Haii, 6700 I~ortiand Ave., Monday, March 2, 1964 at ?s00 P,M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Olson. ` Presents Anderson, Jacobsen, Luettinger, Randall and Olson, Absent: None. The purpose of tha.s meeting was to further consider the 1964 Public Works Im- provement Program. Old Buss nest 1. Fence at Roosevelt Park The mayor read a memo from the Director of Public ~Torks regarding fencing, dated Feb. 26, 1964. Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Luettinger, that the council would agree to construct a f ence on properties contiguous to the tot lot providing the property owners would pay one®haif of the cost with the village paying the other one-haif, this decision based on the fact that the fence is necessary to provide privacy from the adjacent tot lot in Roosevelt Park, P~oil of votess Ayes - Jacobsen, Luettinger, Randall. and Olson, Nays - Anderson, Absent - none. Carried. 2, Retaining Wald - 6944 Vincent Ave, Se The mayor read a memorandum from the Director of Pubiic'Works wherein the village attorney reasoned that the village had a responsibility to cones struct a retaining wall in the alley at 6944 Vincent Ave. S, C- 7154 Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Anderson, that the council approve the construction of a retaining wall. in the alley behind 6944 Vincent Ave. S. A~ discussion was held on the sale of property around Richfi~ld_Lake. George Hotter stated that the people in the area were opposed to apartments. Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Anderson, that the sale of property to Earl DcxPresne be placed on the agenda for March 23rd discussion, and that a report .from. the engineer be submitted March 23rd as to our possible use of the area. Ail ayes W carried. The council recessed for 1® minutes and reconvened with all members present. 6. Sidewalks ~ Ly~nclale Ave. Mr. Retticks owner of Red Top Trailer Court, appeared in interest on sidewalks, asking why Lyndale Ave., ?4th to ?6th was not included in the 1964 pro gram. Motion by Rand all, seconded by Luettinger, that the council approve side® wa1& for the east side of Lyndaie Ave. from 7C?th to ?4th St. Ail ayes m carried, Motion by Rnderson, seconded bq Jacobsen, that the council approve side walk for Lyndale Ave. from 6?th to ?0th Streets. Ali ayes ~ carried. ?. Sidewalks ®Chicae.A ?®th and 73rd Ted Guth, ?244 Chicago Ave,, appeared in interest.. - Access and egress to shopping center at ?3rd and Chicago was discussed. Bud ~fickstrom appeared in favor of sidewalks on Chicago Avee Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, that the council approve side walk for the east side of Chicago Ave. from 78th to ?3rd.Al1 ayes carried. Motion by Luettinger, seconded by Jacobsen, th at the council approve sidewalk for the east side of Chicago Ave. from 66th to ?®th St. All ayes carried.. Mar. 2, 1964 8, Storm Sewers The crosstown storm sewer at Legion Lake was discussed. Ft was dem tided to hold up on this matter for further information from Hennepin Countq. 9. Library A discussion was held on a P,A, system for the library. Motion by Olson, seconded by Jacobsen, that the council approve $995.00 for a good P,,A. system, with present system being used as much as possible.
