Heidelberg Restaurant James Trench appeared representing Heidelberg Restaurant with the mana- ger, Mike La~orick. The mayor read a letter of request to permit liquor sales at the restaurant, their request being to sell setmups. The attorney stated that private or service clubs are treated the same under the present bottle club law. On being questioned if there was any way of permitting spiking to pri- vats organi~,tions o r meetings, the attorney answered that the wording could be to confine it to organi~.tions, but probably wedding parties and similar groups may be a problem. Councilman T,uettinger expressed opposition to any change in our present liquor ordinance. Councilman Randait felt a hearing on the matter would help him to make up his mid. Councilman Jacobsen expressed much the same opinion as Councilman Randall. Councilman Anderson stated he has previously voted against spiking, but -~ . would prefer to have a request from the Heidelberg fora public hearing on their request. 21.
