March 27, 1963.
Pursuant to actfon taken at the meeting of March 14, 1963, the
council of the Village of Richfield met in ad3ourned session in the council
chacnb ers of the Village Haii, 6700 Portland Ave., at 7:00 A.M. Wed., March 27, 19638
The mee tang was called to order by Mayor Olson.
Present: Anderson, Jacobsen, Randall, Reese and Olson.
Absent: None.
Motion by Olson, seconded by Jacobsen, that the manager be instructed b
write a letter on council's views regarding 12th Ave. bridge across highway,
West Side Fire Station
A comparative operating report and the question of afire station on the
west side of Richfield was discussed with Chief Pouiter present.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that the council authorize the
clerk to tali for bids on a west side fire station and the street department
garage on April 30, 1963 at 11:00 A.M.

none, Absent a none, Carried.
Traffic. 5ignais
Carleton Lytle, Asst, Supt, of Schools, appeared in interest of signals
at 73rd and Portland Ave, Mr. Lgtie explained that the construction of more
sidewalks would not increase the walking distance of school children. Mr.
Lytle also stated that the school administration or board would not suggest
where sidewalks should be, but oniq recommend where, if they are going in,

Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Randall, that a fence be eliminated
from the improvement plan for Lincoln Field. Ail ayes m carried.
Mrs, Goodman, 7509 Fleasant Ave., sent a letter on suggested improvem
ant by neighbors relative to Lincoln Field.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Randaii, that improvement of Lincola~
Field be approved for a total of $2300,00 including a saffi boat and tot Iot
and skating rink. Ail ayes m Carried.
Motion by Olson, seconded by Jacobsen, that the manager write a letter
to Freden's Fairways asking that driving range flood lights be ad3usted to
eliminate shining into neighbors east of the range, Ali ayes carried.
The question of having a pane foreman was discussed,.
Motion by Reese, seconded by Jacobsen, that Memorial Park be improved
with a backstop at $100.00. All ayes carried.
Motion by Gilson, seconded by Randall, that football field, tot lots,
back stop and parking area be approved for Roosevelt Park for a total of
$11,000. All ayes m carried,
Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Jnderson, that the 1963 contract pay®
meat of $20,922. on Roosevelt Park be approved.

plan to improve Washington Fark for $5,200, as outlined in the public works
program. Aii ayes m carried.
Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Randall, th at the council approve an
amount up to $10,000. for the improvement of Wilson Park. Ali ayes w carried.
