application for a commercial building permit of Rimnac & Hanson, Inc., 902

21. Suburban Gas Agency Contract - Minneapolis Gas Co.
Ron Anderson from Railroad ~ Warehouse Commission, Ken Persons, Manager
of Suburban I3iv. of Gas Company, Mr. Farnham, attorney for Minneapolis Gas
Co., and Irving R. R.eldsen appeared.
Mr. Farnham. presented certain points in the proposed franchise and dis~
cussed a~uest,~.ons °~°i th the council.
Ken Person stated that the Minneapolis Gas Company felt it was to the
benefit of the sv~burban communities to haws a regulation or some authority
to watch the company°s figures constantly.
I. R. Kelds€n spolce in opposition to the proposed franchise and pro-
posed either a different company service: pr go into business ourselves.
The following State R.R. & Warehouse Commis ion representatives appeared.:

statements.

Bob Cook spoke in fay°or of the franchise.
Jerry Chap~aan spoke in favor of deferring action until after any legism
l.ativ~* bills were presented.
Motion by Olson, seconded by Anderson, that the council recommend adop-~
tion of the Suburban Gas Pranchise and agreement. Motion withdrawn.
Motion by Schultz, seconded by Jacobsen,. that action on the proposed
franchise be deferred until. December 17th special mee Ling. All ayes o carried.
