The council of the Village of Richfield met in regular session,
Monday, July 9, 1962 in the council chambers'of the Village Hall, 6700
Portland Ave.. at 7:00 P.M®
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Olsonm
Present: Anderson, Jacobsen, Schultz, Shields and Olson.
Absent : None.

17. Police Civil Service Commission Appointment
Because of the vacancy in the Police Civil Service Commission
created by the resignation of Ray Cleveland as of July 1, 1963, the follow®
ing nominations were made: Robert E. Cook, 7108 4th Ave. S. and Ralph
Gilbertson, 6709 Lake Shore Drive.

fill the unexpired term of Ray Cleveland on the Police Civil Service Como
mission with term ending the first Monday in February, 1964®

be presented to Ray 1~9. Cleveland for his faithful and extended service on

34. Gift from V.F.N., Fred Babcock Post
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Jacobsen, that the council accept
the gift of a resusitator from the V.F.W., Fred Babcock Post #555, and that
the manager be instructed to write a letter expressing appreciation for-the
gift. All ayes - carried.
35, Sanitary Sewer Rate Survey
As a result of a discussion held on a recent meting attended by
the Mayor, Councilman Schultz made a motion, seconded by Jacobsen, that the
village*s share for a proposed survey on sanitary sewer rates of $480.00
approved at the meeting May 28, 1962, be increased to $800000, all of which
is to be paid from the Sewer Operating Pund. All ayes carried.
36. Adult Swinuning Periods
After a discussion on adult swimming periods, it was agreed that
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 8:30 to 10:00 P.M. be designated as
adult swimming only, beginning Thursday, July 12, 1962.
37. Proposed New Village Halr_Plans
A discussion was held on a possible area for street department and
garage as a prelude to village hall expansion.
A resolution from the Advisory Board urging the immediate procedure
of preliminary plans for necessary action for a new Village Hall was pre®
rented.

Wentworth to Blaisdell, 77th to 78th St. area for street department and
garage, and to negotiate for the selection of an architect for a prelimim

38. Ratification of Easement Purchase
Motion by Schultz, seconded by Jacobsen, that the council ratify
the payment of $300.00 to A. R. Hohag for a water easement. All ayes -
carried.
