Special Meeting
January 15, 1962,
Pursuant to action taken at the meeting of January 8, 1962, the councir
of the Village of Richfield met in special session in the council chambers of
the Village Halls Monday, January 15, 1962 at 7:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Olson.
Present: Anderson, Jacobsen, Schultz, Shields anxl Olson.
Absent: None.
Discussion on the 1962 Proposed Public Improvement Pro~am
A discussion was held on proposed improvements for 1962 involving street
gradings sidewalks, traffic signals, storm sewers and the paving of Portland
Ave.
A discussion on the assessment policy for sidewalks resulted in cost
being assessed on a 50-50 basis with exceptions being 20°G against property
owner and 80~ as village share when specifically stated by the council.
A motion by Schultz, seconded by Shields, that the manager request the
county to intrude Perna Ave, in their highway improvement plans for 1963,
Ali apes -carried.
A discussion was held on the proposed storm sewer improvement involving
District No. 1. The council was of the opinion that°they wish to meet with
residents in this area for informal discussions on the needs and merits of
the improvement before any format hearings are held.. It was also agreed
that the manager present an alternate proposal involving another area.
Motion by Jacobsen, seconded by Anderson, that the meeting be adjourned
to Monday= January 29, 1962. All ayes -carried.
